Frequently Asked Questions
Does your building have an elevator?
No, unfortunately our building does not have an elevator. We are on the third (and top) floor, so there are steps to climb before entering our villa. We do have a wonderful beach cart with balloon tires that is easy to roll up and down the stairs with the beach equipment!
Can I bring my pet or emotional support animal?
No, our resort is a pet-free resort and does not allow emotional support animals for short-term renters. Also, our family has asthma and severe allergies to all cats and dogs, so we strive to maintain an allergen-free environment for our family and our guests.
Can I smoke on the balcony?
No, we do not allow smoking or vaping of any substances in our villa, on our balcony, or in the hallway of our building. Thank you!
Can I check in early?
Official Check-in time is 4:00 pm.
However, when possible, we love to allow our guests to check in early (and never charge extra for this)! But, unfortunately we can not promise an early check-in time. There are many factors that impact the ability to check in early, such as cleaning crew availability, maintenance needs, and required repairs. That being said, we have been able to invite about 85% of our guests to check in to the villa at least 1-2 hours early.
As soon as the villa is vacant, cleaned, and ready for your arrival, I will text you and let you know that you can go ahead and enter the villa!
*Please be aware that early check-ins are less likely on Saturdays and during high occupancy months.
If you arrive on the island before your check-in time, you can go ahead and pick up your parking passes (anytime on check-in day) and start exploring all that our resort has to offer!
Can I check out late?
Check-out time is 10:00 a.m.
Late check-out is generally not able to be accommodated. Our cleaning staff has a strict schedule they follow and our villa needs to be vacated by 10:00 am for them to maintain that schedule.
If you have extraordinary circumstances, feel free to ask us and we will see if it is possible to accommodate your request.
What kind of communication can I expect with you, the Owner?
After booking, you will receive an email with a link to our digital guidebook that will provide detailed information about our villa, the resort, and the island to help prepare you for your vacation. The guidebook also gives you our email for any questions you may have prior to your stay.
You will hear from me a few times between booking and check-in to remind you of payments due and to send you your personal access code to the villa lock (about 5 days before check-in).
During your stay, you are welcome and encouraged to contact me via text if you have any questions or experience any issues. You can also contact me via phone call or email, if preferred.
What if there is a problem during our stay?
Firstly, we encourage all of our guests to do a thorough inspection of the property upon arrival and to notify us immediately of any issues with cleanliness or disrepair.
If you experience any maintenance problems during your stay, we ask that you contact us and we will do our best to remedy the issue as soon as possible for you.
We have wonderful cleaning staff, maintenance staff, plumbers, appliance repair, etc. on the island that we can call to resolve any issue that you might encounter.
When do I get my security deposit back?
Full return of the security deposit requires compliance with the villa rules and resort rules and no damage to the property. After my cleaning staff has inspected the villa and reported to me no damage to the linens, furniture, or structure of the villa, your security deposit will be refunded to your credit card. This generally occurs within 2 days of check-out but could take up to 7 days. If there are any issues that may incur a forfeit of part of or all of your deposit, you will be notified as soon as possible.
We have been fortunate to have had wonderful guests and, thus far (since our start in 2020), we have never had to keep even a portion of any guest's deposit!
Is your villa handicapped accessible or appropriate for persons with limited mobility?
Although the interior of our villa has all living spaces on a single floor, there are stairs leading to the villa itself. The building does NOT have an elevator. To enter or exit the villa, you must climb 3 sets of stairs.
Do you have a washer and dryer in the villa?
We do not have laundry facilities in our villa, as they are not permitted by our regime. There is a coin-operated laundry room in the rear of the tennis pro shop, about 150 yards from the villa.
We do supply a drying rack to hand out swimsuits and towels and a laundry basket to help you carry items back and forth from the laundry room.
Do you have a pack-and-play or other baby equipment?
No, we do not have baby equipment in the villa, but there are several companies on the island that do rent cribs, pack-and-plays, high chairs and other baby equipment. I am happy to help you find those rental companies prior to your stay.
Do you have recommendations for travel/trip insurance?
I do not have any personal experience with any travel insurance companies, but here is an article that may help you find one that suits your needs.
